Pastel Workshop by Otto Stürcke

Take your pastel practice further with a special one-day workshop led by Otto Stürcke, held inside VEFA Gallery during the PSWC Pastels USA: 99 Voices in Pastel 40th Anniversary Exhibition. This workshop will focus on elevating your monochromatic work using only black and white charcoal and pastel.

Otto will guide participants through the process of blending two hues into a broad range of grays, helping strengthen form, depth, atmosphere, and mood. The day will begin with an introduction to the methods and materials, followed by guided exercises designed to build confidence before moving into a finished piece. Otto will provide demonstrations, a variety of reference photos, and plenty of one-on-one instruction throughout the workshop.
